Information for Online Participants Connecting Via UMConnect

Before the symposium:
1. Test Your Computer - To test your computer and make sure that you have the Flash Player installed and that you have the appropriate Internet connection speed, go to https://umconnect.umn.edu/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm.
A successful test will show check marks next to all four test criteria.

2. Get Help - If you cannot complete the test successfully or have other questions about UMConnect, support is available by e-mailing umconnect@umn.edu.

3. Check the Symposium Schedule. UMConnect will begin at 8:30am. Lunch and Project Demonstrations will not be broadcasted.

Joining the symposium:
1. Sign in 10 minutes early. Go to the URL that was emailed to you when you registered. You can sign in with your U of MN Internet ID and password. If you do not have a U of MN Internet ID and password, guest access is available. Click on “Enter as Guest” and type your name into the text box.

2. Use headphones. This webcast will include both audio and video. We recommend that you wear a headset to get the best sound experience.

3. Get Help. If you have technical difficulties after you have entered the meeting room, use the Chat tool to get live help. If you cannot enter the meeting room or have other questions about UMConnect, support is available by e-mailing umconnect@umn.edu.

UMConnect staff have a list of who is registered for the symposium and can assist those registered participants via email.
